Trekking


The valley of Livigno offres the possibility to choose every day new excursions, to enjoy new landscapes and new emotions.

It won't be difficult to see chamois, deers, marmots, eagles in the breathtaking landscapes offered by glaciers, waterfalls, rivers and alpine lakes.


THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW FOR A GOOD TREK
You'll need cleated trekking shoes, mountain clothes, a K-way and sunglasses.
You should also bring a camera and/or a handycam and a pair of binoculars.
Dogs are not allowed.
An ID card is obligatory for all excursions into Swiss territory.
Packed lunches and water-bottles are indispensable.


NEW 2009

1500 kms of trails have been GPS identified in the Upper Valtellina. More than 700 kms of these trails are MTB-accessible.
Over 3000 points of interest (refuge huts, restoration areas, hotels, bars, events, transportation facilities, etc.) have been mapped.
In the summer  2009 Livigno and the surrounding area have been fit out with 190 steel poles showing 404 trailmark charts, 41 area charts and 145 bike charts.

FOR YOUR SAFETY

In case of emergency you can transmit your position to the emergency aid (118) communicating the number written behind the nearest trail marker (arrow).
